Our core principle

SmartImage does not collect, store, or transmit your images or personal data. All image processing happens directly in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

1. Images you process

When you use any SmartImage tool:

• Your image is loaded into your browser's memory only
• All processing (resize, compress, convert, edit) happens locally on your device
• No image is uploaded to our servers
• No image is stored, cached, or logged by us
• When you close the page, all image data is erased from memory

2. Cookies and local storage

We use localStorage only for:

• Theme preference — light or dark mode (saved as si_theme)
• Session state — to prevent showing the same ad modal repeatedly (saved as si_modal_last, si_seen_*)

We do not use tracking cookies or persistent identifiers.

3. Third-party services

SmartImage uses the following third-party services:

• Adsterra — for displaying ads. Adsterra may set cookies to personalize ads. See Adsterra's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — for CDN and DDoS protection. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• jsDelivr / cdnjs — for loading open-source libraries (cropperjs, tesseract.js, qrcode.js, etc.). These requests do not include any of your image data.

4. What we don't collect

We do not collect:

• ❌ Your images or files
• ❌ Your name or email
• ❌ Your IP address (beyond what Cloudflare handles for DDoS protection)
• ❌ Browser fingerprinting data
• ❌ Analytics or behavior tracking

5. Children's privacy

SmartImage is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing for us to delete or export. If you have concerns about Adsterra's cookies, you can:

• Opt out via YourOnlineChoices
• Use a browser ad-blocker (though this may affect site functionality)
• Clear your browser's localStorage and cookies at any time

7. Security

SmartImage is served over HTTPS (TLS 1.3). Your connection to our site is encrypted. Since your images never leave your device, there's no risk of interception of your image data.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of SmartImage after changes means you accept the updated policy.
